After months of hesitation, I have decided to finally just go for it and start a fitness account. I just started Uni, so I think it’s a great time to start this and see where it will take me.
Fitness is something that is extremely important to me. I find that for my overall well-being, both physically and mentally, I need to be moving. I hope that this account will hold me accountable and make sure that I make time for something that can easily drop in priority. I know that I will continue to learn and grow as an athlete, and I’m excited to use this platform to track my progress.
I have always been very active and have done a whole range of different sports throughout my life - most of which I enjoyed. I’m not 100% sure what my goals are yet, or where I’m headed, but I’m excited to find out! Wooohooo 🎉🥊🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️🧘‍♀️🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️one year since I became a certified spin instructor 🚴‍♀️🚲These two hip thrusts variations as a superset are killer!
I did these at the very end of my workout and filmed this when I had actually finished already. I was burning and couldn’t go heavier and only did a few reps for the video. But doing these:
• Normal stance 10reps
(only a couple of seconds rest)
• Feet together, knees out 10reps
x4
and only 30secs-1min rest between sets... ...ouch 🔥This year I want to make more time for stretching and yoga. I love my gym workouts, they motivate me, challenge me, make me feel stronger and give me lots of endorphins. But I also love the release of tension and tightness, peace of the slow movements. Plus it’s really important to stretch, especially when being so active, anyways. I hope that I’ll get to the splits this year. 🤞✨I have exams at the moment. But sitting down for so many hours at a time, definitely makes me need to move. Short but intense workouts have been good. Legs this morning, now some immunology and microbiology... grateful for my workout and study buddy @silvaamanda98 📚💪🎉 📖
I have been insecure about my stomach for as long as I can remember. I’ve put myself down for it way too many times. I definitely do not have abs all the time. I definitely have rolls when I sit in a certain way. I look like a skeleton when I stretch real hard. That’s okay. That’s normal. I have been, and still am, trying so hard to get over this obsession to have a flat and defined stomach 25/7. It was a huge step for me to train in a sports bra, wear bikinis, wear crop tops etc. and I still have days where I prefer a baggy T-shirt. That’s okay too. My stomach can have abs all day. It can have abs for 2 seconds while I take a photo. And it can’t have abs no matter how hard I try to not breathe for a photo. It changes throughout the day, changes everyday, it’s just not something I can depend on to look the way I’d like it to all the time. But instead I’m trying to take small steps to get rid of this stupid insecurity and body shaming and self destructive thoughts. I consciously remind myself how grateful I am to have a healthy body that can do amazing things for me, every second of every day. 2019 is the year to let go of the insecurities (one step at a time, with fall backs, and with success) and live in the body you have and enjoy every moment. 💛💛💛This place and these sports hold a special place in my heart 💕. I’ve missed boxing and kickboxing so much. It’s so empowering to feel your strength and power when you kick and punch. It’s such a confidence booster. It’s amazing to feel strong, especially as a woman, and go against the stereotypes. So grateful for the opportunity to train here when I’m in Berlin. 💛it’s not always gonna be an amazing session and that’s okay ✨☠️💥swipe for expectation vs. reality ••• all 3 photos represent the truth though. I had Uni from 9-18h today. I really wanted to exercise afterwards though, said I would, but in my mind I thought that I probably wouldn’t end up actually going. But I did it! I’m proud of myself for getting up and moving. It wasn’t what I had in mind, it was really tough, but I feel amazing now. Love getting sweaty 😌🏃‍♀️ 5km ✔️

📺 microwaveToday I went to the gym. Went to the locker room, sat down. I already had my gym clothes on, I was already at the gym. But I had absolutely zero motivation. I sat in the locker room for 30minutes, and decided that I was going to go home. I was so tired. I checked when the next free bus (a university service) was going to go. 50 minutes. That’s a long wait. I also haven’t been to the gym the past 2 days, so I really wanted to go today. But still didn’t have the energy, so I thought about just reading in the locker room till then, but thought if I did that I’d probably fall asleep. I somehow convinced myself to just go to the gym after all. I actually ended up taking the bus an hour after that one. I had a slow, but satisfying, quite heavy leg session. I guess I don’t really know what the moral of the story is. It’s both: 1) listen to your body, it’s okay to rest, even if it’s several days in a row. And 2) you can push yourself, motivate yourself to do things you didn’t think you could. And sometimes you just have to get started and you’ll get into it more as a you go along. And 3) sometimes you still don’t get the motivation and it’s a slow session but you can make it a good one 💪💪 (p.s. I back-rolled at the end of my session and almost fell asleep in the middle of the gym floor)Most of the time, you can do much more than you think you can. And even just knowing that, and reminding yourself of that, can make you do much more/better. 💭Pre-sweaty CrossFit circuit session:
