Today’s etudes were Tyrell 24 and Rochut 4. Tyrell 24 has most of its challenges in consistent articulation and leading with the air rather than the tongue (and finding some of the pitches for me today). I have great pitch out of context but it seems to go out the window in finding partials... I absolutely love Toby Oft’s recordings of the Rochut/Bordogni etudes. Whenever I play one, I have his sound in mind. Tomorrow I start AP exams and get results for next year’s chamber choir! Summer is so close I can almost taste it.
