2014 and 2015 were really dark for me. I’d just left a long term relationship that was violent and toxic. I had two little boys to raise, a part time job and I was living in a basement trying to figure out how to make it work. This song got me through some really low moments with myself.
In 2016 I learned something that I won’t discuss here, but that had a tremendous impact on my entire life and I had to redo some work I thought I’d already done.
I listened to this song on some particularly bad nights and it calmed my soul.
In 2017 and 2018 I’d hit a rock bottom with my mental health, another bad break up and a shit load of other stuff.
It’s always been this song.
Now it sounds like life to me. Driving through the mountains, blasting this song - I feel ALIVE and happy and peaceful. And it always makes me smile because it’s the song that kept me alive when nothing else made sense 😊
