If you’re anything like me, when the chocolate craving hits, there’s no missing out on it. It started for me when I was pregnant (more than a decade and a half ago) and I ate chocolate every day. I don’t recommend this approach. I poured chocolate milk by the litre daily, ate dairy milk and couldn’t figure out what the inflammation was about. I thought it was just pregnancy. Um….it was sugar, dairy and all sorts of nasty junk.

Fast forward to a teenager that sleeps in my lower level all day and I still get those chocolate cravings. 

Here’s my quickest fix:

Frozen bananas (2)
Dates (1-2)
Chocolate chips (you know the drill - ¼ cup)
Cinnamon (1 tsp)
Almond milk (½ - 1 cup)

Toss everything in a blender and give it a whirl.

I add the cinnamon for a few reasons:
- It helps to lower my blood sugar levels
- It may help lower my blood pressure
- It’s filled with antioxidants
