There’s very few people that I’d shed some heavy tears for and this woman is one of them. Celebrating Kathy’s retirement today after serving over 20 years as the director of the Emily Taylor Center at KU was emotional and uplifting. Nearly 4 years ago, I had came to Kathy, pregnant, stressed, lonely, and full of self-doubt. This woman has been a beacon of light throughout my doctorate journey. She has given me so much support, guidance, and strength during my most challenging times as a single graduate student parent. She has instilled in me a greater sense of strength, courage, and self-understanding leading to greater confidence and love with the woman I am today. I am forever indebted to this woman. I love you Kathy! ❤️
