1. Diabetes type II is NOT in most cases genetic.  YES there are genetic links. But what this means is that some people with certain genes have a PREDISPOSITION (aka at risk) for developing. 4. PLEASE help me make this PSA: 95% of the time when you are sick you DO NOT NEED AN ANTIBIOTIC.  Unless you’ve been ill for 10-14 days 90% of the time imma tell you “go home, rest, fluids, de-stress, sleep”. Because the body is an amazing freaking thing and it heals if you do the things its asking for.

5. So many women say “it doesn’t run in my family”. I think this has been a false safe space for women because it tells the story of “if it doesn’t run in my family I am safe”. It presents a false sense of security.

6. If you’re on birth control, synthetic (aka fake) hormones are controlling your “cycle”. It’s like a computer following a code sequence.

7. The thyroid is such a complex gland.  Truly under recognized in medicine.  These are a minimum for testing for me.  If you come back with abnormalities we start looking at reverse t3, zinc and selenium (and like an endo referral cause I definitely don’t know everything!)

Carbohydrates are macronutrients, meaning they are one of the three main ways the body obtains energy or calories.

All macronutrients must be obtained through diet the body cannot produce macronutrients on its own.

Carbohydrates provide fuel for the central nervous system and energy for working muscles. They also prevent protein from being used as an energy source and enable fat metabolism.

Mainly they are of 2 types
Simple and Complex carbs.

Simple carbs are easily digestable and they do breakdown easily, leading to quick shoot in the GI of your body. Mainly from the processed foods you can find them. They have more added sugar, no fibre. Hence needs to be taken in carefully to avoid type 2 diabetes. Hence not recommended for fat loss.

Complex carbs, they are natural full of dietary fibre and are found in peanuts, vegetables, starchy foods, brown rice, oats etc. They take time and breakdown. Hence they help in good digestive health and gives the required amount if energy to the body , good metabolism too. 
Now break the myth that carbs should be avoided from your diet. And adapt to the fact that bad carbs should be avoided from your diet. And intake of the carbs should be as per your needs and always vary the amount you intake. Like on day 1 you are taking in 150 cal, day 2 200 cal, day 3 150cal, day 4 100 cal. In short the graph of carbs intake should never be constant or touch zero.
