11 years ago I lost my dad to suicide. Losing any family member makes your heart ache in a way you’ve never know before, but there’s another level of grief when suicide is involved.
So do me a favor and tell your mom or dad you love them today one extra time for me today. Or give them an extra long hug. Or send them a funny gif that made you think of them. Take advantage of every moment you have with them.
Losing a parent is hard. No matter how you lost them. My heart goes out to anyone whose ever lost the person that created them. Live a life that would make them proud.
Having a daughter, makes this year feel a little harder. But I can’t wait to teach her all the things that my dad taught me. I started a list of those lessons today :)
