Inspiration: I arrived early in the morning at Pine Creek Gorge, which is also knows as The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. Part of the Appalachian Mountains, Pine Creek Gorge is beautiful throughout the year yet it is especially spectacular at the peak of fall foliage season. Fog that looked like a cloud that lost its way, settled low in the valley of the gorge and hung there long enough - before being burned off - for me to capture several shots of this elegant morning autumn landscape.
This autumn landscape was shot of 4x5 color transparency film which enables me to enlarge this in print sizes of 96 inches wide and even larger while holding on to the wonderfully colorful details. It looks great printed on metal. Pine Creek Gorge at Leonard Harrison State Park in PA is a special place.
