It’s the rides that don’t go to plan that you learn the most about yourself. Do I still care enough to keep doing this at 51? I think the race yesterday told me I am, 2yrs of injury, catching covid and having a month out etc you do think start to think let’s enjoy life away from the bike but I still love the training process and it was great to race again after a barren time, seeing old faces, still racing with my old man at 70 odd. We are as sad as each other 🤣
Anyway to all my coached riders who I bang onto every week about pacing....you are free to shout back as I unlearnt everything I know yesterday. Massive tailwind out, fastest to the turn at over 32 average...not the quickest back or over the line as I died on my arse at 7 miles. Schoolboy
