Swipe for a crash landing!!!

A male Spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus punctatus) zooming into his burrow with fresh nesting material (their nest is deep in a chamber at the end of the burrow).

Spotted Pardalotes are super cute little burrowing birds found across southern and eastern Australia. They dig small burrows in steep soil embankments (or, in this case, a vertical retaining wall beside our cabin) in which they build their nest. You can hear the males high pitched “pip-pipip” call at the end of the second video.
