The Underground Series.
Part of what helped bring the idea for my post-apocalyptic zombie series to "life" and inspire its creation was history.
The subway tunnels are the only safe place for the heroes to hide and survive in my series and the true-life events of World War 2 were what I tapped into to conceptualize the events in my story.
In the UK during world war 2 the subway tunnels, known as the underground, were transformed into bomb shelters for citizens to hide from air raids.
