12 years ago yesterday you entered our life. I will never forget that day. It was filled with so much joy and fear. I was so scared. I didn’t understand Down syndrome. It sounded terrible. I thought you wouldn’t be able to do things. I thought our life would be sad.
Fast forward 12 years, you have proven all of my fears wrong. You have filled our life with so much joy and love. You have made all of us better people. You have taught us more things than I could ever imagine. It’s been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs but you help me focus on the ups.
I hope you had the best day ever yesterday. It was filled with things you love...the pool, your family, Little Hugs, hot dog buns, cupcakes, ice cream and lighting bugs.
We love you so much!! We can’t wait to see what you do this year!! And I can’t believe you will be a teenager next year. Please slow down...you’re growing up way too fast!
