After a month-long hiatus on reading, I finally managed to finish The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson. I was really intrigued by this book back then because first, the title is not your typical “Always Look on the Brighter Side!” self-help book; and second, a lot of people are talking about how they had to reevaluate their life after reading this. And so, as someone who is in constant pursuit of ways to feed her curiosity, I gave in and finally read it.

I appreciate how it shed a new light on self-help books (This is my first self-help book, though lol). It stepped away from the usual rainbows and unicorns of how to live a happy life. Instead, it slaps you in the face and tells you to accept (and not to accept 😉) the brutal realities of life.

At first, the concepts are overwhelming, but as I process everything that Manson wrote, everything starts to fall into place like puzzle pieces.

This book is packed with learnings in its pages. I couldn’t write every single lesson that I learned so I just picked five! I was thinking of doing nine—one for each chapter—but chose not to because I honestly forgot some parts na since I started this one last month pa. Also, I have to practice to be concise in my writings!

I was excited when I wrote this so I kinda went overboard and I didn’t realize that it’s too long na pala HAHA. But just to summarize it all: choose your values wisely! Your values should make you grow as a person!
