Golden hour at Whangamata beach. Tranquil now but this morning the waves were crashing up to the dunes and washing chunks of sand back to sea. The second photo shows the erosion. It only takes one storm to change the beach. Our beach systems are fragile and this shows just how important it is to protect our dunes.
