But I call her Pixie Dust🧚🏼‍♀️. June 2 is her last day on Earth unless we save her. The bite marks on her face and ears and her ribs poking out tell us that Pixie has had it rough. But despite experiencing human neglect, she is sweet, gentle and polite. Pixie is a thick and beautiful, wrinkly-headed Pit Bull who is one of the sweetest girls ever and who instantly won my heart and the hearts of volunteers. This girl has great people skills! She has a soft mouth when she takes treats from you and she does not jump on or crowd you. Pixie greeted me with a sweet little kiss, an adorable piggy tail wag and a cute sideways sit that would make you swoon. She is the cutest little lady, and her very muscular physique combined with her polite gentleness just makes her even more endearing. Pixie walks well on leash and is not a big puller. So why is she in trouble? The circumstances of her surrender to the shelter are frankly a bit shady, but it was reported that she got in a fight with another dog. The bite marks on her face and ears are testament to that. And although Pixie walks by kennels on leash and is nonreactive to dogs barking at her (or even chickens in their coop right next to her), she did get agitated when some small dogs walked by and barked at her while she was in the yard. And she seems to not trust dogs that might approach her. Pixie needs training to realize that dogs do not equal danger. Her body language was consistent with a response of “don’t come near me please” not “let me get at you.” Can we give this beautiful soul a chance? Can we raise money for her board and train?
