What’s Your Recovery Plan?
As important as it is to build a practical, sustainable exercise habit, the same is true about recovery.
Your recovery plan should take into account the same principles as your workout plan.
It should be:
-something you can do consistently
-effective
-at least mostly enjoyable
Examples include:
✔️Getting quality sleep
✔️Eat enough protein and vegetables
✔️Drink enough water
✔️Rest your body when you need to
✔️Stretch
✔️Take a yoga class
✔️Go for a walk
So even though a weekly massage sounds nice, it might not fit your schedule or your budget. Maybe you could dedicate 10 minutes a day to foam rolling.
20 minutes of meditation might seem unbearable now, but maybe you take 3 mindful deep breaths throughout the course of your day.
The key is to be consistent. Start where you can and do that.
