🩺CHANGES TO PRACTICE (VIDEO CONSULTATION) 🩺

In light of these chaotic times, one thing that’s been interesting to watch is how services across the world have changed and adapt to continue delivering care.

Physiotherapy is a profession where generally speaking, all patients have face to face assessment and intervention. 🏃🏽
However due to COVID-19, all routine face to face contacts have been limited/cut out completely!🙅🏽 It has been amazing to see how well Physios have adapted to these obstacles. One of the main thing I’ve seen in my own practice is the use of telephone consultations and (if you’re lucky enough to have good I.T.) video consultations! 📱🖥 Using these methods have allowed for Physios to continue managing their caseloads, providing and altering a whole range of interventions without having to actually “see” the patient.

As we all know, the end goal with every physiotherapy intervention is to give the patient the independence to manage their own presentation, and this is just another way of doing it!

It’ll be interesting to see if any of these changes to practice remain in place once the dust settles…and even more interesting to see how this affects hands on interventions like manual therapies going forward!
Stay safe out there, and keep doing the very best job that you can do! ☺️ #NHS #Healthcare #Physiotherapy #Physio #Physiotherapist #SportsTherapist #Exercise #Telephone #Video #COVID19 #Treatment #Pain
