And yes, it is hard to explain to a four year old “quality over quantity”. @simple_families had an amazing podcast about gift giving that helped me to verbalize the challenge with these toys- a child may not feel feel immediate joy the way they may with a noisy flashy toy. The joy comes for days and years after when the child is able to make the highest tower they’ve ever made, or a truck so big they can fit in it, or design their own amusement park.
