International women’s day (3/3)
Last but certainly not least the diligent and super talented midwife Lina, as well as the countless brave women she has assisted through birth. A quiet yet assertive gentle giant, she’s just the kind of calming presence you would want to have around during labour. A truly awe inspiring woman to be able to keep her cool and smile through her challenging working conditions - the clinic only has two rooms and one midwife Lina! When I asked her what would happen if more than two women were in labour at once I was informed that others would have to give birth on the floor and she had no choice but just to make them as comfortable as possible. Got me thinking that despite all the struggles we face with nhs waiting times we are still quite fortunate to say the least!
