Memories from my past do not define me. But a lot of me is living in the past. I seek validation from my past. I want to establish my identity based on it. It’s not an authentic way to live. It’s hard to think about anything else other than my past a lot of the time. I don’t know how to let go but it starts with acknowledging it.
