Channeling my Slovak roots today! 🇸🇰
My grandfather grew up in Slovakia — Bratislava is where he attended college and met my grandmother. He went on to become a diplomat in Vienna and eventually fled his homeland for the U.S. during communist rule. If it weren’t for that brave decision to give his family a better life, I wouldn’t exist!
Unfortunately I just get a small taste of Slovakia today but I hope to take a real trip through the country someday. I only wish I had come sooner so I could share pictures with my grandfather (he passed away last year at 97 years old).
