Every morning when I wake up and every night before I go to bed I practice my gratitude. This is not natural for me and isn’t always easy. I could list all of the struggles, exhaustion, pain, and stress that I face in a day and it would honestly be longer than my gratitude list. Nonetheless every morning and every night I focus on the things I have that I am grateful for within the difficulties of life.
I feel that often times people like to give a “positivity” speech...”just think positively, things will get better”. This honestly isn’t helpful. There are many difficult situations that ARE NOT ever going to “get better”. The actual circumstances may not change, but your perspective within the circumstances can. In this change in perspective you will find that the difficult situation may become just a bit more bearable, and this is the beauty of gratitude.
The more you practice focusing on gratefulness the easier it becomes to adjust your mindset throughout the day. 🙏
