Antifungal agents. Pharmacology is so intimidating, especially all the crazy names. Seriously, who names these drugs? Antifungals are used when a patient has a fungal infection, which can be of the skin, mouth, GI tract, even bloodstream. A common one I’m sure you’ve heard of is oral candidiasis, or thrush. Usually, fungal infections are opportunistic, but there are some dimorphic infections that can affect healthy individuals.
