FRIDAY CONFESSION ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ True story. I just sent this email to my friend @jenn.aspinwall ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “…I have no effin’ idea what I’m doing...It’s a Harvard Business School Case Study in wingin’ it. My former Type A self would be so ashamed. Glad she’s not running the show anymore.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And that just might be the most perfect life summary I’ve ever accidentally written. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For a moment I considered whether posting about wingin’ it in my business was a smart move. Former Type A Posterchild me would have never asked that question because she would have never even considered posting such a thing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Her business and life were so over-scripted and over-prepared. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Funny thing…all that “professionalism” yet her business wasn’t growing and her work was vanilla at best. And I don’t mean that yummy Mexican Vanilla at Austin’s famed Amy’s Ice Cream. I mean the generic 5 gallon tub of tasteless ewww you get at the dollar store. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But Wingin’ It Denise… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She’s not leaving everything to chance and she’s certainly not not un-prepared. She is, however, ... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉 Brave enough not to over prepare 👉 Gutsy enough to leave room for discovery, instead of walking in armed with certainty 👉 Courageous enough to say, “I know this is the answer – and I have nothing but my gut to back it up.
