In today’s world of go, go, go..do more and be more, it’s no wonder we are more stressed than ever before. *

Pair that with constantly killing yourself in the gym doing HIIT or other types of extreme workouts and that is a recipe for burnout, injuries, increased cortisol levels (aka stress hormone) and can ultimately trigger other health problems.  I know because over the years I’ve experienced this myself. *

Approach your fitness regimen with balance.  Learn to listen to your body.  Take time to stretch and recover.  Limit high intensity workouts to 2-3 days a week with a day or two in between to recover.  More is never better and overtraining is counterproductive to improving your health and fitness in the long run. *
