9/22/18: I love men. I’m an independent, self sufficient woman but i unabashedly need the men in my life for their distinct differences and strengths. About a year ago I attended a Christian woman’s brunch hosted by Get Inspired Movement . One of the leaders @judythureson stopped midway through and asked us all take out our phones and text an important male role model in our lives. She wanted us to thank them for what they do. I decided to txt my stepfather. He was so appreciative. And this action within our group of women generated a lot of love. In the midst of all these women’s empowerment movements and things in the media such as the focus on sexual assault by men (which is actually a matter of evil not of gender) there has been a wedge driven between men and women. Reflecting on our brunch I believe it’s important to remember that actually... we are better together. Thank you Judy for inspiring us to love which is the main thing that can create lasting change. . . “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in Law? Jesus replied: “love your Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is love your neighbor as yourself.” - Matthew 22:36-40 . . “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,which is the word of God.” -Ephesians 10-17
