I’ve never been a “Can I have a picture” person. I’m always worried about invading people’s space. I have a tendency to fade into the background. ‘Tis my nature. So, imagine how overwhelming it is to be complimented by Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Marianne Jean Baptiste, and a host of other beautiful, black women who came out to show love and support to Ledisi. I am awed and humbled. I’m so grateful to Ledisi for not only sharing her platform but for continuously pulling me into the light and not letting me fade into the background, as I am wont to do.
