Today’s my birthday and I have a birthday wish to myself - and for you. •

Before this picture was taken:
We were in South Carolina for the Rise Conference, it was 22 degrees and I wore a tank top which sounds normal but it’s not really my favorite thing to do. •

Got to the ocean and we were taking pics and I was constantly trying to cover my boobs for each picture. Pulling and yanking on my shirt and getting annoyed that I couldn’t get a pic with them not there. •

We made a rule that we were going to close our eyes and just sit on the pier for five mins doing nothing but listening to the ocean. Except in that time all I heard was ‘this is who you are’ ‘this is what you’ve been given, stand strong, stop finding ways to hide’ ‘this is who you are’
•

It was such an aha moment for me.
This is who I am.
This is what I was given.
I have always been uncomfortable in my own body, never really allowing myself to just be confident in this body that does everything for me. •

I took this pic seconds after telling myself, this is who I am, stop hiding. •

We didn’t really look at them til we got back to the hotel and when I saw this picture for the first time I was like, I see myself. Like actually see myself. I didn’t try and pull up my tank top, or cover up, I just let myself be in this picture. •

I am so grateful for a hundred tiny things every day. Even for what my body can do for me, I am strong and healthy. But I’ve always had a hard time being grateful for other parts of my body I struggle with. •

So my birthday wish to myself is to feel as free as I felt in this picture that day by the ocean. That I will love my body because it is me and who I am. •

And my second birthday wish is that if this is also you, that you remember this is WHO YOU ARE and that you will have confidence to stand in that truth this year and live freely. •

So much love to you today.
Thanks for coming on this journey of figuring it all out. •

I’m taking the weekend to be with friends and family and will write everyone back this Monday. Thank you for the gift of some time ❤️
