Our volunteers deserve a round of applause! 👏🏽 Yesterdays stats: 10 people (and two little ones) 3.5 hours planting 10 coconut trees 40 banana trees 100 vetiver (khus-khus plants). Teamwork makes sense! #partnershipsforthegoals #permablitz . #rePost @cocohillforest . Coco Hill Forest teamed up with @wirredbarbados and @cpribarbados to host a permablitz. Volunteers of all ages came and helped planted coconuts, bananas and vetiver grass (khus khus grass) on the terraces. Terrace farming works to control soil erosion. Vetiver grass is one of the best soil erosion plant to use as it’s long roots helps bind soil. Bananas and coconuts need lots of water and therefore compliments the process.
