FROM THE JOURNAL // “I discovered bothies almost accidentally while researching walking holidays in Scotland. Initially, I was drawn to them purely on a visual level. But the more I studied them, the more I became fascinated by what these small buildings stood for. I felt as though they represented our desire to escape and to be distant.
