On Thursday, October 31st around 2:30 PM in St. Charles, IL, I recorded Blizzard conditions. Winds were ripping between 30 and 40mph, snowfall was heavy, and blowing snow brought the visibility down to 1/4 mile or less. We ended up getting a total of 6” of snow. On Saturday, November 2nd, the snow has already melted. What? I assume the reason is because the temperature got up to about 35° which, by itself would not have melted the snow but the ground underneath was very warm which resulted in rapid melting. Either way, it has made things quite soggy here in Northern IL.
