Ged King is on a mission to help make Manchester and the world a better place, one haircut at a time.
Growing up in a tough neighbourhood outside of Manchester, Ged served in the military with distinction. From there, he went on to establish a successful barbershop. But Ged began to wonder about how he could create impact in the world around him. He decided to diverge and make his own way.
In 2015, Ged started offering free haircuts to the homeless around Manchester, and what started as a passion for helping others became a mission to give disadvantaged people a chance to improve their lives.
The Skullfades Foundation was born: from bringing food, hygiene kits and help with addiction to the homeless, to training them to become barbers – raising their chance of employability – the team is now expanding its reach.
