Taking the road less travelled has been the biggest challenge and greatest passion (and purpose) of my life. Sure, charts upon charts also depict very similar reassuring messages.
But. You don’t need to read the charts to allow yourself to pave a new way. Simple willingness is all that is required.
If we haven’t met, hi 👋🏼 I’m Seva Shakti (most commonly known as Jamie) 🙋🏻♀️ I am coming to love (and use) my spiritual name more as it helps me (and maybe you too?) take myself a little more seriously than my cutesy chubby cheeks (god forbid they never disappear!). I had the privilege of coming to Australia when I was 16.5 of age and studied under an inspiring geography teacher. The terms Sustainable Development, Intergenerational Equity, Precautionary Principle and (did I mention) Sustainable Development all lit something inside of me and they stuck. High possibility because it was the way of the future, and still is. I got to study and explore all the nooks and crannies of that via our natural environment and biodiverse ecosystems in my B. Envm Mgmt (Hons) degree @uniofqld. I very quickly saw the problem of our age wasn’t in the flora and fauna needing better plans or legislation written about them; the problem was in our population. I knew I didn’t want to lie on my deathbed revelling in a certain ecological quadrant dissection (is this even a legit term?!) done marvellously. I wanted to make a bigger difference than that (no offence ecologists 🤭).
Fast forward to me levitating in my red dress.
That’s right, leadership. If we look around at the state of our humanity, our planet, it’s clear that things ain’t looking too sustainable out there, bleak even.
Know the quote, if we don’t stand for anything, we fall for everything (or run the risk to anyway)?
Well, the time is now. We need more steadfast driven leaders, fast. Settle in sheepland or awaken the sleeping lion. The invitation is open.
