In 2006, Sonic Team created Sonic The Hedgehog (no...not that one) and intended it to be a kinda reboot of the series.

Sonic The Hedgehog for the Xbox 360 is best known from the fans these days as Sonic 06, maybe so people don’t get confused between this one and the classic Sonic The Hedgehog game on Megadrive/Genesis. The game features Sonic The Hedgehog, Shadow The Hedgehog & the newcomer Silver The Hedgehog as playable characters. Each character has a vastly different playstyle to them.

The thing I disliked the most about this game was the running stages at the end of each Sonic stage. The running stages consisted of Sonic running at Sonic Speed with no way to slow down (other than if you hit a wall and die) the aim of the stages is to sprint all the way to the end while moving left, right and jumping. This wouldn’t of seemed so bad, but Sonic moves so fast that it’s hard to control him, and one mistake, you’ll be hitting a wall or landing in the sea. Numerous times I’d play it and I’d hit a wall, and Sonic doesn’t just stop and pick himself up, no he just keeps running into that same wall.

I never finished Shadow nor Silver’s story. Sonic’s part of the game ruined any possible replay of the game for me.
