Verdict: Providence Rhode Island singer and songwriter Lingua Ignota’s dense and elaborate third studio album titled, “CALIGULA” is an eleven song, hour long project that disassembles and confronts misogyny from its Judeo-Christian roots. A constant war between evil and good, the album is just over an hour long, creates an atmosphere of metal, grand noises and meek opera to support the stunning vocals and confrontational tone of lyricism throughout. Feminist revenge is the thesis of this well thought out essay of life, clashing thematic genres together; in the end creating an enjoyable album, and a record that will easily stand the test of time. Without a doubt, “CALIGULA” is one of 2019’s more bold yet very effective additions to its growing list of enjoyable albums. I wish I could say more about this piece of literally art, but all I can say is: check it out. •
