WELCOME 💞 I made this Instagram to talk about all the hard things... all the awkward things... all the things I’ve been asked to make quite on my personal Instagram. As a society we can talk about metal health if it’s a smiling lady on a television advertisement that swears by a lifesaving pill that made her go from “Ugly Betty” to real life “America Ferrera” in one scene change. 💜 #MentalIllness commercials are often displayed using a model with lack of makeup, messy hair, dark clothes, dull lighting and a straight face. Then with a few simply changes to her makeup, hair, wardrobe, lighting and facial expression, she goes from DEPRESSED HOT MESS to FRESH FACED BEAUTY! At this point the scene often shifts dramatically from the prior low light exterior shot to a scene of the same but now made-up women smiling through a grassy green park. ☀️ The scene directors aren’t even trying to be original here; sayings like “Stop and Smell the Roses” 🌹 or “The Grass is Greener on the Other Side” are literal pictures the producers showcase to create a shift in scene. DEPRESSED PEOPLE... are to disheveled to attempt to smell flowers but a happy person on the other hand will never pass the chance to take a big swift of the fresh pollen collector, especially when there a florist shop on every corner. 💐 (As shown on every anti-depression drug commercial ever lol )DEPRESSED PEOPLE... never take walks and if they do there are certainly never flowers or green grass anywhere around. (In the commercials you don’t get green grass and flowers until your their happy pills) Which also makes me to believe whatever drug they are selling actually works for lawn care too?!
