Accepting the ego takes time and concerted effort. Yet this is one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences for a devoted practitioner of the traditional arts. It helps to first understand what purpose the ego serves in our development. And wisdom and certainly acceptance will arise from this central truth. So far we have been introduced to the ego as a bad thing. But only by taking time to understand the full importance of the purpose of the ego and its potential without right or wrong, or good and bad judgment, or judging yourselves so harshly can insight come. We ask that you try to observe, without self judgement. Judging yourself has no place in this process. It never has.
