Fun Fact: I used to want a 6-pack...and I had one! I feel like I need to find my bikini pics from college and post before and afters👙.
So, let’s flash back to my college days for a minute. I was really skinny, extremely lean, and on a diet path to Hell🔥🔥.
I lived on coffee (with sugar-free hazelnut syrup), South Beach protein bars from CVS, and pre-made salads to go from my school. Oh right, and let’s not forget alcohol (but that’s another story). Score! I was skinny.
So as you can see, there was absolutely ZERO focus on nourishment. My only focus was weight loss and being skinny. But what’s so crazy is that I didn’t even know to think about food as being a tool for health and beauty.
I saw food as the ENEMY. Everything that I consumed made me sad because I knew it would make me fat or bloated.
This mindset went on for years. Food is the enemy and makes you fat. As a twenty-something year old, you can get away with this way of eating...until you can’t anymore. I was so unhealthy. Heart palpitations, anxiety, skin issues, grogginess...
I previously talked about how I went through a vegan and plant-based stage and how I was embarrassed by it...well, truth is, I DON’T regret it. Being vegan allowed me to at least APPRECIATE and think about the food I put into my body.
You know how I feel about food now? I see it as MEDICINE. I see it as NOURISHMENT. And I see it as a tool for longevity and beauty. Yes, Today, I still think about EVERYTHING I put into my mouth, but not the way I used to. I think about the quality and the nutrient density of my foods. I don’t think about if it will make me fat. It won’t.
💯Food is not the enemy. It is your BEST friend. 🙌🏻
If I eat nutrient dense foods, they will make me HEALTHY, VIBRANT, ALIVE, ENERGETIC,
STRONG, and BEAUTIFUL. That’s how I think. That’s how I feel. And I see the results.
This mentality has changed my life in a MAJOR way. It’s changed my family’s life. I hope my journey can help you too. 💕
