Judas Priest šæBritish Steel 14 April 1980 Its the sixth studio album release from iconic British #heavymetal Band #judaspriest
Judas PriestĀ never intended the cover of their 1980 Classic to be macabre? The sleeve was simply an extension of the albumās title conceived by bassist #IanHill as both a nod to the striking steelworkers of the time and to what the band saw as their own quintessential Britishness!?
The genesis of the cover began whenĀ vocalist Rob š¤The Metal Godā” HalfordĀ noticed that Gillette-razor blades bore the legend "Sheffield Steel" and pitched the concept #britishsteel to his bandmates especially #kkdowning While some had their reservations āThere was a bit of a debate because a razor blade was an emblem of #punkrock Hill notes! But the design was completed to unanimous approval
Classic example of #80smetal Bands album cover Easley Recognize I only added it to my Humble Vinyl Collection last year
