Looks like #benzodiazapines aka #xanax, #valium and the like are being shown to be an effective treatment for #cannabishyperemesissyndrome #CHS - 4 patients in #Israel were able to achieve remission under treatment. I haven’t been able to get the full study, but they’re claiming Benzos reduce the activation of the CB1 receptor in the prefrontal cortex and if true beyond a treatment they’ve also identified the brain region which may be likely to be responsible for the condition. Not completely surprising as benzo response has been linked to CB1 receptor activity prior as well.
