Until I turned the page I almost forgot I am Mr. July in my astronomy club’s 2019 calendar. I collaborated with Brian Pihack and Glen Pidsadnick on this picture of the summer’s greatest nebulae at last year’s Starfest. M8, the Lagoon, is at lower left. M30, the Trifid, is at lower right. The open cluster M21 is just above M20. All of these objects can be seen with binoculars in the constellation Sagittarius throughout summer. Under dark skies, the Lagoon can be seen with the naked eye as a hazy patch. I saw it myself last Saturday. Happy Canada Day too! #stars #space #astronomy #canon #summer #nebula #astrophotography
