On Friday May 17th, 2019 I graduated with a 4.0 GPA, an ACC President’s club award, statewide academic honors, and Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society Recognition from Austin Community College with an Associate of Arts in History 🎓🎈📚🎉 I had finished classes back in August, but life had thrown me so many curveballs at the time that I wasn’t able to walk until last month in May.
I am VERY proud of my accomplishments, as I managed to tackle a full-time school schedule packed with honors classes, an ACC Psychology Club Presidency, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society “Gold Member” duties, 2 jobs, a consistent workout routine with a personal trainer (shout out @levelupyoga ) & a serious relationship at the time. Many sleepless nights, anxiety attacks, tears, & sacrifices took place but I MADE IT THROUGH despite the various mental & emotional traumas I endured throughout my time in school - everything from the loss of my father, my family losing nearly everything during Hurricane Harvey, the death of my paternal grandfather, a very intense court case in another state, & so much more.

I could not have accomplished this without the love and support of my mom, my maternal grandparents, & my stepdad, who supported me even from miles away, and I CERTAINLY could not have done it AT ALL without Nick, who was my rock, my encourager, my partner, and my absolute hero in every sense for EVERY SINGLE STEP of the way - LITERALLY FROM START TO FINISH.
An Associates degree may not mean much to some, but for me it is a symbol of my strength, my passion, my persistence, my endurance & the love of knowledge that I have always had. I don’t know what my future holds but I am thankful for the past that will have brought me to it. Here’s to dreaming big! 🌈 Cheers! ❤️🎉🥂🎈🙏🏼
