My first Father’s Day without my Father.
A realization I made last night.
It’s hard to remember the last time I spoke to my Dad on father’s day.•
•
Every year for the last however many years, my Dad wasn’t lucid enough to understand who I was, let alone what Father’s Day meant.
So, I’m accustomed to not sharing with him on this day that is meant for him.•
•
And now that he’s gone, this day almost feels lighter.
No reminder that he’s trapped, no reminder that he doesn’t know who I am.
No confusion left for him, for alas he is free.
Free to roam the back country again.• •
I’m not sad. Don’t confuse my words.
I’m not sad at all.
I choose to use this day to polish the memories we shared together.•
•
This is my world, it is my choice as to how I view the blessings that I’ve been given.
And don’t be fooled, they are ALL blessings.
Don’t let a narrow perspective rob you of that realization.•
•
Every hardship, every loss, every piece of sorrow, every experience up until this very moment is bringing you towards your finest hour.
They are all stones on the path toward actualization.
If you choose for them to be…•
•
Everything is moving forward regardless of whether you choose to walk the path or not.
Sometimes we get to choose which stone we step forward on,
Some stones we don’t choose at all.
Some stones are chosen for us.•
•
We don’t always have control over the stone placed in front of us, or the path forward,
And we ALWAYS have control over the state in which we step forward on that path.•
•
Do you step forward in your power?•
•
I implore you, don’t stare too long, too hard,
Don’t forsake the stone in front of you.
They are all part of a beautiful mosaic,
Part of a much bigger piece of art work that hasn’t been revealed to you…just yet. •
•
You cannot know how it will unfold. Nor should you try.
You cannot know what the finished product will look like.
Accept the path, create your self along the way, and believe and have faith that everything that is happening is for your highest good.
