We’ve been hearing such wonderful things about Navarre’s newest restaurant, @blackskimmergrille, that we had to go check it out for ourselves! Needless to say, we understand now what all the hype is about! The quality of the food is so impressive…it’s almost like everything on the menu is a “step above” what you’d expect. For instance, we started with the Tillamook Cheddar Stuffed Tater Bombs, which were made with real mashed potatoes, fried to perfection and served with not just any ketchup, but smoked ketchup. The burgers aren’t just any burgers; they are made with a blend of ground chuck, brisket and short ribs. We had The Black Skimmer Burger, which was absolutely decadent with house-smoked bacon, pimento cheese and pickled red onions — delicious! The French fries are hand cut and are AMAZING — some of the best we’ve ever had. We also had the Smoked Buttermilk Fried Chicken Thighs, which came with mashed potatoes, coleslaw and a biscuit. Just like everything else, the quality of the food shined and every single bite was scrumptious. The chicken thighs were huge and juicy, and the crispy batter was absolutely perfect. The portions of the meals are plentiful, and the prices are totally reasonable, especially considering the high quality of food offered. We can’t wait to go back and try more of their yummy creations!
