A pipefish preserves energy by clinging onto a small blade of sea grass on a blackwater dive over the depths of the Tanon Strait. Our excellent dive guide Felix observed that they tended to sight more life in the sea at night when there is more weeds and sea grass in the water column, acting as a kind of life raft for planktonic creatures.
