Just some of the ‘curs’d faces’ by Gainsborough on view at Gainsborough House, Sudbury, Suffolk, his childhood home until he was 13. Joshua Reynolds recalled that Gainsborough’s portraits were ‘most admirable for the exact truth of resemblance’
