Walking around Donostia-San Sebastián last summer, exploring the town we came across a local beer festival on the streets and decided to check it out. I got to try some local beers and meet the people who make them.
I was fortunate to meet Joxe Anjel Arbelaitz founder of @pagoabeer in 1998, considered to be the OG and the first one to produce #craftbeer in the Basque Country and throughout Spain. We got to chat for a few minutes and I was able to taste a few of his beers, his Pilsner happen to be my favorite, of course!
I also got to experience a few other local bars that pour local beers which was very exciting to see. Slowly but surely they are catching up with the trends and creating a scene of their own, looking forward to visiting again in the years to come, topa!
