I love this man and the lengths he goes to to plan special memories for us! . • Nearly every person that found out I didn’t know where we were headed was 🤯 & said they could never do it! . • I got the same reaction when they found out we were keeping the gender of our children a surprise too! 🤷🏻‍♀️ some were more spirited than others in their opposition to our choice on that 😂 . • But guys.. it is the best! Surprises are fun.. & having someone who loves you & knows you well whisk you away & plan all the details ... yes please!!! . • All I was told was to grab my passport & what weather to pack for ... 🙌 . • He has taken me to Aruba, New Orleans, South Dakota, & now Ecuador & the Galápagos this way... and I’ve surprised him a few times too.. but I’d say I won the awesome hubby lottery big time! . • Here are some fun facts about where we are headed today! . • The Galapagos Islands are famous for the diverse animal & plant life found on the land & in the surrounding seas. There are more than 400 species of fish alone, so visiting the islands is like stepping into a National Geographic documentary! . 🏝97 % of Galapagos is a National Park . • Some of the interesting species and things found here: 🦎 swimming lizards aka rare marine iguanas 🐦 three different colors of Boobies .. birds people (😂) 🌋 active volcanos (last eruption 2015) 🐧 only place you can find penguins in the northern hemisphere! 🐢 land & sea species: The Galapagos tortoise has an average lifespan of well over a century, and that makes it one of the longest-lived vertebrates on the planet. Seeing them in the wild is truly something unique. The green sea turtles are believed to have coexisted with the dinosaurs 🦕 . • Also.. they say every month is the best time to visit 🙌 . Located near the equator, the islands experience stable weather throughout the year.
