My first visit to Donostia-San Sebastian in the Basque Country last summer and the main reason to my trip.
Visiting @brewgross had been cooking for 5 years. I first “met” Andoni through social media, he started following me from the early days of my project and we stayed in touch since. During that time he followed my travels and the breweries I’ve visited while telling me about how he was a nomadic brewer and wanted to open his brewery one day. On November 2017 that dream became a reality, they opened their brewery and taproom in the Gross neighborhood.
My original trip to Spain had only two stops, Barcelona and Madrid but plans sometimes change and I was glad it did, an unexpected visit to the Basque Country presented itself and exploring the local beer scene became a new adventure.
Since my visit last year they opened a second location in the old part of town, a tap room. Which means another visit must be scheduled soon!
