I think about this a lot, and how far we are from it; especially in terms of our relationship with knowledge-seeking and sharing on social media. It’s hard to step back and actually pursue true knowledge-seeking. There’s a lack of clarity and confusion that is a result of generational falsifications the means of seeking and propagating knowledge (e.g. colonial methods of knowledge production - based on outright lies, laziness, and dehumanization of “the other” – which, we know has negative generational impact. We really need to question our ways of seeking knowledge and what rights we have over that knowledge, and the what rights that knowledge has over us and others. That’s the Islamic way.
